How and when does our insurance coverage respond during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Following are common coverage questions the Trust has received from members. Q1. What is the new state law that provides a presumption for COVID-19 workers’ compensation claims? Which employees are covered by it, and what coverage is provided under the presumption?

Q2. How will the Trust determine the date of injury for a COVID-19 presumption claim?

A3. Other types of employees can still make a claim for an occupational disease or personal injury, even though they are not entitled to the COVID-19 presumption. Q6. What benefits are available for an accepted COVID-19 claim under the workers’ compensation law?

Q11. If a city is forced to cancel an event, is there coverage for lost expenses or revenue?

Q14. Is the city liable if someone contracts COVID-19 while in a city facility or participating in a city program?
